There are a number of laboratories on Nestlé’s site in Nunspeet in the Netherlands. The capacity of these laboratories should be increased. Our office was asked to investigate the possibilities of renovation and expansion or renewal of the laboratories. The existing on-site laboratories are temporary facilities.
Our architectural office has made a number of proposals for the renovation and expansion of microbiological laboratories and for the renovation and expansion of chemical laboratories.
With regard to the construction and stability of the existing options for the reclassification and revitalization of the temporary existing buildings, our office saw few opportunities. Also with regard to the energetic possibilities and the sun exposure, together with the economic considerations for maintaining the existing temporary facilities, our office saw few possibilities.
In addition to the renovation and reorganization of the existing laboratories, our office has made a proposal for a new building. We have aligned the architecture of this new laboratory building with the architecture of existing buildings on the site. We considered the old existing buildings did have an important architectural industrial heritage.
